This page explains how Travel and Food Guy works financially, where reviews come from, and what to expect from the content on this site.

Editorial independence

Every review on this site reflects my own experience. I write what I actually thought, including the things that didn’t work. No third party (not a hotel, cruise line, airline, restaurant, or PR agency) gets to approve, edit, or veto a post before it goes live.

Trip funding

Almost every trip on this site is paid for out of my own pocket. Flights, hotels, cruises, meals, the whole thing. When a trip is partially or fully comped (a media stay, a press cruise, a sponsored meal), I disclose that at the top of the relevant post. The disclosure does not change my review.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book or buy something, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only link to products and services I have personally used and would recommend to a friend. Affiliate links never determine which products are reviewed or what the review says.

Sponsored content

If a brand pays for placement, the post is clearly labeled “Sponsored.” Sponsored posts still go through the same honesty filter. I will not run a sponsored post about a product I would not personally use.

Pricing and availability

Travel pricing changes daily and availability is seasonal. I list prices that were accurate at the time of my visit. Always confirm current pricing on the operator’s website before you book.

My own opinions

Everything you read here is one traveler’s opinion based on real visits. Your experience may differ. If something on the site is wrong, outdated, or unfair, email me at travelandfoodguy@gmail.com and I will fix it.
